SF Events

Inspired by the AIWA hosted conference in October 2011, Founding board members, President, Gaiane Khachatrian, Vice President, Lusine Yeghiazaryan, Treasurer, Marine Gouchian, and Executive Committee members Laura Dirtadian and Susanna Cogswell launched the Bay Area affiliate. Seeing the impact and opportunity to empower Armenian women and families locally and in Armenia, it became clear that much could be done. With excitement and enthusiasm the ladies set the foundation to launch one of the Bay Areas most vibrant, growing and dynamic Armenian organizations.

Today, AIWA SF’s has thirteen executive committee members under the leadership of President, Christine Soussa and Vice President, Sophie Moradian. With commitment, passion and intention, the team brings a unique and vibrant set of skills dedicated to growing AIWA SF and continuing to expand an affiliate that celebrates 5 years of achievements this year. AIWA SF is excited to continue expanding its positive impact locally and in abroad.

AIWA-SF continues to diversify its initiatives and partnerships to drive change and give support in relevant areas.  For example, AIWA-SF is partnering with technology companies to acquire “used, in-good-condition” laptops and tablets to donate to underprivileged schools and organizations.
